"Continental" Robert Susz (ex Dynamic Hepnotics & The Mighty Reapers singer, harmonica player & songwriter) has assembled his latest soul/blues/down-home funk combo "THE CONTINENTAL BLUES PARTY". They have been turning on audiences with their electrifying, soul charged, R'N'B workouts since their formation in 2007.
Mixing "Continental" Robert's own blues & soul compositions (including his 80's Smash Hit "SOUL KIND OF FEELING") with show-stopping versions of tunes from greats like - Ray Charles, Muddy Waters, James Brown and Curtis Mayfield to name a few, this is one show not to be missed!!
The Continental Blues Party will be featuring "Continental" Robert Susz - lead vocals & harmonica, "Hit Single" Adam Pringle - guitar & vocals, Robert "The Hungry" Woolf - organ & vocals and Evan "Livin' Well" Manell - drums.
Support for the night are locals Bonnie Kay and the Bonafides, a unique sort of soulful and sassy package of blues and roots: Open it! Bonnie Kay, a contemporary American singer/songwriter from Philly who landed in Australia via Tokyo, uses acoustic, finger-picking, slide-guitar techniques, plus a voice reminiscent of blues icon Bonnie Raitt's, to deliver her own red-hot, sexy sound.
Add Wayne Rigby on saxophone and flute, Catherine Golden on double bass, Kathryn O’Connor on drums, and Kaiki Suzuki on trombone and it’s a Bonafide Band with a capital B. That, there, is the triple truth, Ruth!
