RAMBLIN’ NIGHTS - WED 29th NOV
JEP & DEP
Presented by Mother Hen Touring and Code One Entertainment
Newcastle’s Nicholas Connors and his band were the surprise new act at this year’s Dashville Skyline Festival in the Hunter Valley in Oct, blowing the whole festival audience away with their rocking Alt Rock/Blues.
With key influences like Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and The Gun Club this young crooner’s blues rock ‘n’ roll is unpolished and unrepentant. An alluring and enigmatic performer with a baritone voice, his live band bids a rally of vigour and charm, while lyrically he deals with life, longing and the disfigurements of society.
Jep and Dep are an underground Folk-Noir Duo from Sydney. Their music is often compared to Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra meets Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue. Beautifully dark, dramatic and cinematic.
“Jep and Dep will melt your heart like a marshmallow at a campfire”…Courtney Barnett in NME magazine.
Mercurists is the latest project of Sydney Musician Max Porter. Having played around Sydney for the past several years he continues to explore the themes and imagery that drive his music, crescent moons and Faustian pacts, long creaking coal trains winding into the night. Max will play electric guitar and will be joined by drumming sensation Oscar Henfrey.
